I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with 20 years' experience in the NHS, and more recently in private practice.

Due to years of working with young people across these different settings, I am experienced in understanding and responding to a wide variety of psychological needs.

Transitioning from adolescence into adulthood is one of the most difficult developmental achievements. My area of expertise is in working with young adults who are struggling with low mood and anxieties connected to identity, to sexuality, to gender and how they feel about themselves in relation to their peers and family members (including parents).

My professional background has involved both working and supervising colleagues in hospital settings, in community (out-patient) clinics, mainstream primary and secondary schools, as well as advising local education services for two London boroughs.  I am experienced in working with young people individually, with families and with groups.

I am registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP) and I qualified with the British Psychotherapy Foundation.  The ACP is the regulatory body that acts as the sole provider for NHS funded and recognised trainings for psychotherapists specialising in treating children and young people.  As well as being a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I am also a registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).

In combination with my current NHS work for a North West London-based CAMHS clinic, my private practice is regularly informed by up-to-date analytic thinking and techniques.
